A Case Of Intellectual Property

Posted on February 2, 2011

One area of law practiced by Red Mountain Law is intellectual property. Intellectual property is an ever-growing area of the law and common types of intellectual property include trademarks, copyrights, patents and trade secrets.

Recently, Elizabeth Ritter and Brice Johnston, of Ritter Law Firm, LLC and Johnston Law Firm, P.C. respectively, helped Big Deal Promotions, Inc., d/b/a “Imageworks” obtain licensing rights from the American Football Coaches Association to sell replicas of the 2009 and 2010 national championship trophies through a number of promotion campaigns. The Coaches Association and USA Today newspaper are responsible for the Division I-A college football Coaches Poll as well as the awarding of the BCS national championship trophy.  In a non-partisan move sure to make both Alabama and Auburn fans happy, the replica trophies are available through www.bcstrophyshop.com.

Be it championship trophies, filing a trademark or negotiating a license, Red Mountain Law is happy to help with questions regarding intellectual property.
